My 2015 film “Last Words” mentioned in 2023 book!

Wow! My 2015 film ‘Last Words’ was mentioned in the 2023 book, “Speculative Film and Moving Images by or about Black Women and Girls: Watch It!” I can’t believe the whole year went by and I did not know it.

After my 2020 film “WOKE”, Last Words is my second-most viewed film on my vimeo. Who knew I’d go from being a young and dumb girl writing about an old man I was physically repulsed by but felt a duty to (and would immediately regret wasting my time with, haha what a jerk), to the film being spotlighted in the media years later. That is freaking awesome!

Jeffrey-Legette analyzes several films made by black women; she analyzes black actresses, the legacy of black women-led horror, and more. I’m linking the book here. Feel free to support the author and check it out! (I don’t make any money from the sales. Just supporting).

RANDOM FUN FACT ABOUT LAST WORDS: Minnesota loved the film more than any other state, I found – something I never expected. Interesting, isn’t it?
